Automated People Mover Standards establishes the minimum requirements for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of automated people mover (APM) systems. Collectively, this 4-volume Standard presents the requirements to assure the safety and performance of APM systems.
Part 2 has been extensively revised, and 21.2-08 replaces 21-98. This part provides information on vehicles and propulsion and braking systems (PBS).
This Standard will be useful to transportation engineers, safety engineers, and contractors of APM systems, as well as to anyone who owns, operates, builds, maintains, designs, tests, insures, oversees, or certifies APMs or other innovative technology transit systems, such as magnetic levitation, air cushion, and monorail systems.
