BSI BS 1902-5.3:1990

This Section of BS 1902 : Part 5 describes a method for determining the thermal expansion of refractory materials. It is applicable only to products which have been fired to a temperature equal to or greater than the upper limit of intended testing.

The maximum temperature for testing is 1100 °C.

NOTE 1. The temperature is restricted because of the material recommended for the equipment and the absence of water cooling.

NOTE 2. The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.

Method for measuring the reversible thermal expansion of shaped, fired refractory products.
