Specification for ferrous and non-ferrous Bourdon tubing
This British Standard applies to ferrous and non-ferrous tubing supplied in straight lengths in a suitable condition for the fabrication of the pressure-responsive components of gauges and instruments operating on the Bourdon principle.
Detailed chemical compositions are specified and a series of sections, with appropriate tolerances, is specified for “oval? tubing.
The types of tubing specified are as follows:
| Non-ferrous | Section |
| Beryllium copper | 2 |
| Brass | 3 |
| Phosphor bronze | 4 |
| Ferrous | |
| Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel | 5 |
