This British Standard specifies dimensions, surface textures and other features of design for various types of gudgeon pins, sometimes referred to as piston pins or wrist pins, all of which are case hardened. They are suitable for use in two and four stroke cycle spark and compression ignition reciprocating internal combustion engines. The standard covers pins of 10 mm to 200 mm diameter.

Typical applications of various types of gudgeon pins are given.

NOTE Unless otherwise specified, all dimensions in this standard are in millimetres.
