Specification for Clay Bricks

Clay bricks should comply with the relevant standards and codes to ensure quality and durability.

They must have uniform size, shape, and color to maintain consistency in construction.

Bricks should possess sufficient compressive strength to withstand structural loads and environmental conditions.

Water absorption capacity must be within specified limits to prevent damage from moisture.

The bricks should be free from cracks, lumps, and other defects that could affect performance.

Requirements for dimensions, compressive strength, water absorption, soluble salt content, efflorescence and sampling for bricks manufactured from clay for use in walling.

Also gives methods of classification and guidance on appearance.

Sizes and tolerances apply only to the 225 mm x 112.5 mm x 75 mm format.
