Determination of metals in textiles -- Analysis by atomic emission spectroscopy
This British Standard describes methods for the determination of the proportions present in commonly encountered textile fibres (excluding inorganic fibres) of metals, including the following metals: antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel and zinc. Methods are given for both soluble and total metals and are applicable to any metal capable of being detected by the instrumentation used.
For atomic emission spectroscopy, the detection limit is governed by the calibration range chosen and the resolution of the instrumentation used.
