Considerations for step-by-step instructions to be used at local control stations, or on mobile devices, such as field operating procedures, as well as procedures for maintenance and testing, are provided in an informative annex.

The recommended practice provides application recommendations, based on current industry experience, for the design and use of COPS at nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.

This recommended practice identifies acceptable practices and important considerations for applying COPS to facility operations.

This recommended practice is intended to support developers, users, and reviewers of COPS.
